Description

Formed in 1997, Madrid’s Hard Oi!/Streetpunk outfit Non Servium presents a fully remastered best-of compilation titled “Street Songs Since 1997”, released by Fettfleck Records.

The current lineup features vocalist Carlos and guitarist Snoker, alongside Gordo on bass, Ivi on guitar and Niño on drums. Carlos and Snoker have been the band’s core members throughout its entire career and on all studio albums. Non Servium’s sound is rooted in Oi! – or rather, what they call “Brutal Oi!” – blending influences from punk, street punk, and hardcore punk. Fast-paced drumming and powerful bass and guitar riffs are key to their signature sound.

Their lyrics are mostly political, though themes often include punk, skinhead, and hooligan culture. Alongside bands like Kaos Urbano and Núcleo Terco, Non Servium are among the most prominent Spanish-language voices in Oi! with an explicitly antifascist and anti-racist stance. To date, the band has released seven full-length studio albums. While their debut album leans more toward traditional street punk, later works embrace a heavier, more hardcore-driven sound.

Four years ago, the band released a “Greatest Hits” on CD, but this new compilation is vinyl-only, features a completely different tracklist, and all songs have been newly remastered.
